How to Install APK and OBB (Data file) on Your Android Phone?

Install APK on Your Android Phone

First, you need to install the APK file on your android phone. In order to do that, simply follow the steps below:

  • Place the APK file in your phone’s SDcard or Internal memory (preferably external SDcard).
  • Browse your phone memory/external memory and tap on the APK file.
  • Click ‘install’
  • Wait for the APK to install.
  • Do not run the application yet.
  • After a successful installation, you need to place the Data / OBB file in the right place.

Where to put the OBB or Data file?

  • First of all, unzip/extract the downloaded OBB or Data file in your PC or laptop.
  • Copy the ‘Data’ folder and place it into the given path: External SD Card > Android > Data > “paste the folder here” In case of OBB files, copy the OBB folder and place it in the given path here: External SD Card > Android > OBB > “paste the folder here”
  • If you cannot find the OBB or Data folder, you can create a new folder manually.
  • Make sure that the files are successfully copied in your SDcard.
  • Disconnect your phone from the PC.
  • Run the APK file now.

  2. people listen now the apk file is just the game interface program and the OBB directory is the place where all files like maps cars models sounds, go…. just to make this clear you cant use the apk only without the obb dir. obb dir is where the actual game is and the apk just a launcher basicly

Warez sites are sites with pirated or cracked software.
I also join my friend’s question. Where should I get the said OBB file? You write to do this, you don’t write how

  5. For the obb file to work properly, it must have this name exactly like this: main.1140.org.cambridge.englishgrammar.egiu.obb Otherwise it won’t work. Numbers are the version of the installed apk

  10. Hi. I’ve downloaded the mod APK and obb of Asphalt 9 and copied and pasted the obb to obb file on my external sd card, installed the mod apk but upon opening the app it still asking me to download 2.3 GB of files. Isn’t the same as the obb file which is 1.95 GB. Should I proceed to download cause there’s no other way I can play this but to download the “additional” 2.3 GB files.

      • ….. The apk (the app) has been ”patched/cracked” in a sence. . This app does not require a obb file…. the dude is explaining how to install mod apk’s….. In general… As in if you happen to come across one of these modded apps one day, you unzip it and fined that there is a obb or data file that came along with it you should plainly copy and place these files into the correct corresponding folder witch you’ll fined on your storage (a file called Android) .. So obb file go’s to obb and data file will be pasted in to data. In any ways….. Mostly only your Android games come with OBB files and your apps that can do photo editing, text front or any kind of user information will come with a Data file… ………. ay Mr Admin

          • I’m assuming that everyone is referring to the OBB files that you have been referring to.

I don’t know if I fully understand the theory correctly behind the need for OBB files? But as I VERY loosely understand it, I believe the installation of the OBB files in question is required in order to provide the “premium” or “modified” features of the app in question.

Is that what OBB files are used for?

If not, then what are they used for?

Are they needed for the APKs on this site?

I think others are asking where to find those files? ie. That it to ask: “Are the files here not ‘premium’ as they are? Are OBB files required?
            Which files, for which app?
            And where are they found?”

You mentioned “Warez” sites? What are these?
